2006-01-26, Budapest Hungarian SMEs and their Outlook after EU Accession
The SME Union Hungary (KKVE) annual conference took place on 27 of January 2006. This year’s motto was: "Hungarian SMEs and their Outlook after EU Accession". It was organized under the patronage of Viktor Orbán, President of FIDESZ Hungarian Civic Party, Vice-President of the EPP. On the 26 of January 2006 the conference was preceded by a workshop for Hungarian and Central and Eastern European entrepreneurs. The objective of the workshop was to get acquainted and to exchange ideas and best practices.

The event was opened by the President of KKVE (Hungarian SME Union) - György Bisztray and Christoph Leitl, President of SME UNION of the EPP, who spoke about the opportunities of SMEs, as well as their difficulties and the issues concerning opening of the labour markets in Europe. The SME UNION family was represented by Patrick Moulin, Secretary General of SME Union of UMP France, President of SME Aerospace and Defence and Jerzy Samborski, Vice-President of SME UNION and President of SME Union Poland.

The conference was attanded by: Péter Rejto, Trade Commissioner of Austrian Embassy Commercial Section, László Parragh, President of Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gábor Gérnyi, Head of Department of SME Development, Ministry of Economy and Transport, Zoltán Cséfalvay, Professor of the Andrássy University and Speaker of the Economic Consultation Initiative, György Szucs, President of IPOSZ, the Hungarian Union of Handcraft Organizations, István Jakab, President of Association of Hungarian Cooperations, Márton Braun, Managing Director of MVA and Zsolt László Becsey MEP, member of the EP Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, who underlined the importance of SMEs in the European economies. The event was concluded by the women entrepreneurship pannel, headed by Etelka Barsi-Pataky MEP, member of EP Committee on Transport and Tourism. The panel was attended by Marie-Christine Oghly, National President of Women Entrepreneurs Directorate France, Katalin Kiszely, former MP, University Professor and President of KKVE-NT and Anita Petrucz, Project Manager at TMB Hungary Technology Transfer and Software Development Engineering Ltd., who talked about the situation of women entrepreneurs in Hungary.

Unicorn, the SME Union Poland together with its partners and friends is organizing an SME Conference with the special focus on regional cooperation between SMEs.

2005-01-21, Annual SME Hungary Conference
Jacques SANTER, President of the SME UNION, György BISZTRAY, President of KKVE - the Hungarian SME UNION - and László MÁDI, Member of the Hungarian Parliament FIDEZ-MPSZ chaired the SME UNION Conference "9 Months in the EU: The Future of Hungarian SMEs".

Impulse statements were also given by Zoltán CSÉFALVAY, Professor of the Andrássy University, György SZÜCS, President of IPOSZ (Hungarian Union of Handcraft Organizations), Marian MILUT, President of the National Union of Romanian Employers, Etelka BARSI-PATAKY MEP, Ildiko SZENCI, Director of SME Women and SME UNION Co-President Peter JUNGEN.






2004

2004-09-29, Brussels, Belgium
The SME UNION was happy to welcome more than 40 young people linked to the Hungarian Conservative Party MDF to the premises of the SME UNION. Secretary General of the SME UNION presented our activities to the young crowd. After introduction the visitors had a lot of questions concerning our working group and lobbying activities. Following the discussion with Patrick VOLLER and the Chairman of SME CENTRAL, Jerzy SAMBORSKI, the visitors got advice from IIdiko SZENCI, Director of SME WOMEN, on women entrepreneurship and insider information about the work of an MEP.
